LINES WRITTEN ON THE AMERICAN SOAP

Turkish Bath

Roman Aqueduct

                               A yellow block of fatty oil
                         No Grecian marble or Persian spoils
                         A mere smooth solid bust
                         Of a fair-faced damsel cut
                         With a wide-ribboned bonnet
                         Over the fine flowing kiss-curls
                         A fine art ; no boast of timeless skill ;
                         Rub it over your cheeks
                         The mistress melts with foaming cheer
                         A pure dissolution of her soul and shape
                         Lending fresh fragrance with her silk-soft touch ;
                         Over your brow, over your cheeks and chest
                         Over your heart, over your arms
                         Over your thighs and over your nape ;
                         NoTurkish Bath or Roman aqueduct
                         Equally pleasant I feel
                         In these dull inartistic days
                         Here in this lovely lathersome Lady-Soap.

Note : A casual observation of a soap molded in the shape of a lady with a broad-brimmed hat and flowing locks. Art is seen even in common objects. One needs only a few moments to watch.
